Lost breaths, inner flames love left unchecked, it pours, rains heavy on this skin.

A dark winter came, blowing ice, snow, and sadness through the bone and vein.

I’ll wait up at night. To hear your voice, my warm light. I embrace the sound.

Clued in or forced out Seeking water in a drought What’s there…is what’s there

Inescapable Sun drips down shutters, on me Asleep, in a dream

The sounds of raindrops Hit the ground while I’m running And I’ll keep running.

Sun through a bird’s wings Smoke rising in the open Air. Time standing still.

Summer has faded The cooler nights have begun September is here.

The day smells of rain The low mist blankets the roads Trees bend in the wind

Ribbons of color— Transparent streams of light drift Up past the blue sky.
